See this woman? Her name is Dawn Maestas and she is a tattoo removal specialist in Albuquerque, N.M. She takes the time to remove tattoos that were signs of domestic abuse. 

Until I watched this segment on CBS tonight, I had no idea that some people forced their partners to get tattoos of the abusers names on their body as a show of “look, you’re mine”. One of the poor, young women on the segment said: Right now our mirrors are covered up because I can’t look at myself.”

And Dawn Maestas went through this kind of abuse too. 

I think that she is a hero.
